D+S, Thailand 2013
This picture lights up our day because there is nothing like seeing the smile on his face as his childhood sweetheart walks towards him at the altar. Not the spectacular landscapes of Thailand, not the ornate setup, not the hundreds of guests who surrounded them, just that one look! Who says life isn’t filmy afterall
Viral and Aanchal,
Not every love story needs to be the same. Every once in a while we come across a non childhood-sweethearts-proposes-on-a-uber-romantic-date love story that turns out to be a superb wedding to shoot and an awesome couple to shoot with. Viral and Anchal’s was technically an arranged marriage but 15 minutes into a pre-wed shoot with them and it seemed more of a ‘destined’ marriage. Their smiles were genuine and so was their new found love. The wedding that followed carried the typical gujju-friend-circle-takes-over-the-wedding euphoria. At one stage during the pheras, the friends and family decided to take the whole ‘flower-shower’ business to the next level and by the end of the epic flower varsha (see it in the pics to believe it), both of them were hiding under a cloth to cover themselves.
Whoever came up with the term ‘arranged’ marriage
Anand and Garima
Destiny. In a strange play of things, it brings people together. Anand and Garima’s marriage was a play of destiny in more than one way. First of course was the couple themselves. He met her through a common friend seven years ago. At that stage, none of them were looking for a long distance relationship but decided to give it a shot. They managed to keep the love alive, between cities, between jobs and at one stage, even half way across the globe at one time! What looked like an impossible feat to manage at one time eventually just fell into place as if it was destined to be! A winter wedding set against the backdrop of the gorgeous pink city Jaipur. Three days of melange of Rajasthani hospitality with Punjabi zestiness. All coming together at a balmy evening at The Raj Palace.
Secondly, in a way this was where the seeds for Knotinfocus were sown. Anand and I kept in touch after the wedding. We left our jobs and started our photography ventures in a week’s time of each other and eventually decided to merge to form Knotinfocus.
Stories … stories …
Urvashi + Karan
The wedding that gave us our most loved picture (link) comes from all the way from Kolkatta. A beautiful marwari affair against the gorgeous backdrops of the city of joy. As if that wasn’t beautiful enough, how about flying to Jaipur for a couple shoot. Travel, love, stories!
