There are things called perfect love stories. Here is how they go … he meets her at college, they fall in love. Things happen and he has to go overseas while she battles out an intensive medico course. They continue their long distance relationship through thick and thins for 10 looong years. On her birthday he takes her to an underwater restaurant in Dubai and pops the question and days later they get married in a wedding that was holy-mother-of-batman level cool.

We’ve never been more eager to look back at pics from a wedding after the shoot. Here is one of many to come …

The Swirl,

It is good to be reminded occasionally, why we do what we do. Like most brides, Vishaka was nervous and stressed in the run up to her wedding. On the day of the Mehendi, Vishaka’s mother had a brilliant idea to allay her anxiety. The extended family was gathered and instructed to grab a handful of petals from the flower pile for the decorations. The idea was to shower Vishaka with flowers when she enters the family home.

When it happened, Vishaka was so overjoyed that she broke into an impromptu swirl, literally dancing her worries away. We were fortunate to be there not just to document but share and be part of the family’s unbridled joy. As wedding photographers we may have the best laid plans but it is moments of true serendipity like this that help us create magical images. Here’s a big ‘Knotinfocus’ shout-out to Vishaka and her mom.

The Look

This picture lights up our day because there is nothing like seeing the smile on his face as his childhood sweetheart walks towards him at the altar. Not the spectacular landscapes of Thailand, not the ornate setup, not the hundreds of guests who surrounded them, just that one look! Who says life isn’t filmy afterall
